SAWN TIMBER-THE FOUNDATION OF PRODUCTION

Versowood Group is Finland's largest private producer of sawn timber. The combined capacity of production, concentrated in Otava, Riihimäki and Vierumäki is 1 000 000 m3, of which the proportions sawn are 50% in Vierumäki, 30% in Riihimäki and 20% in Otava. Of the total production, about 40% is pine and 60% is spruce.

The logs are automatically classified and specified for quality, using modern production lines which assure the quality of the product, evenness of the sawing surface, measurement precision, drying result and surety of delivery. The ready products, carefully protected, are packed into longitudinal or forklift truck packages in accordance with the client's wishes.

The saws generate, in addition to basic sawn timber, further processed products such as sawn timber components and planed products. The company's unprejudiced, open-minded attitude towards development effort has helped enable the creation and versatile further processing of several new products.
